Decadent Chocolate Pie

Source: today.com

Ingredients :
store-bought pie crust, or cookie crumbs crust
250 grams chocolate (milk, dark, or semi-sweet, it's up to your liking)
200 ml of double cream or whipping cream
some butter (I don't really measure when cooking..)

Hi, I am back after a (super) long break writing in this blog. My last post was on 2013, whoa. It's been 3 years already? Meanwhile, I am now a college student, and will graduate really soon!

Today, I am back with a simple recipe that you can make for party or for someone's birthday. I called this recipe as Decadent Chocolate Pie! For the pie's crust you can use store-bought, or even make it yourself by using cookie crumbs. Simply take some cookies (Graham crackers, digestives cracker, or even Oreo--remove the filling!), crush them, and mix with some melted butter until the crust started to form (not too much butter yet not too little, just enough to make the crumbs sticks to each other). Pour the crumbs-butter mixture to pie pan, and press it down until dense. You can use any size of pie pan, and you can adjust the ingredients.

The filling is my special weapon for the pie! Simply take 250 grams of chocolate (you can use any chocolate, milk, dark chocolate, or semi-sweet one. I always use dark chocolate because it's my favorite and I don't really like things to be too sweet.), add a tablespoon of butter, and then pour 200 ml of heated double cream or whipped cream (any cream with more than 35% fat). You don't want to heat the cream, just set your stove on medium and let the cream heated/simmer, but not boiled.

Let the mixture for a minute, the heated cream will melt the chocolate and butter. After a min, give it a good stir until it mixed really well. After that, pour the mixture to the crust! Put the pie in refrigerator until chill.

Whalaa, there you go, your simply decadent chocolate pie! You can add any garnish/toppings to your pie like cocoa powder, grated chocolate, whipped cream or even fruits (raspberry/strawberry sounds good), or just serve it plain!

This ingredients make up to 20 mini pie, but you can just make any size of pie, and I think this recipe equals 1 medium-sized pie (?).

Enjoy!

P.S. You can make this recipe using microwave only. Use the microwave to heat the cream, remember, don't boil it!
